-
AeroPress
-
Paper filter (or metal filter)
-
Kettle
-
Stirring utensil

Your favourite mug
Recipe (Inverted Method):
-
Preparation: -
Heat water to approximately 200−205∘F (93−96∘C). If you don’t have a temperature-controlled kettle, boil water and let it sit for 30-45 seconds.
-
Grind your Trailhead Coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency, resembling fine sand.

-
-
Assembly: -
Place the paper filter in the AeroPress cap and rinse with hot water.
-
Assemble the AeroPress in the inverted position (plunger on the bottom).

-
-
Dosing & Introduction: -
Add your ground coffee to the AeroPress. A common ratio is 1:15 to 1:17 (coffee to water). For example, 15 grams of coffee to 225-255 grams of water.
-
Start your timer. Pour twice the amount of water as the amount of coffee used. So if you used 15 grams of coffee, pour 30 grams of water. Ensure all grounds are saturated. This is the bloom, allowing the coffee to release trapped gases.

-
-
Bloom & Stir: -
Let it bloom for 30 seconds.
-
Gently stir the bloom to ensure even saturation.

-
-
Steeping: -
Pour the remaining water into the AeroPress.
-
Stir gently.
-
Allow the coffee to steep for 1-2 minutes, depending on your preference.

-
-
Pressing: -
Carefully attach the filter cap to the AeroPress.
-
Gently invert the AeroPress onto your mug.
-
Press down slowly and evenly.

-
-
Serving: -
Stop pressing just before you hear a hissing sound.
-
Savor the clean, nuanced flavours of your AeroPress brew.

-
Tips:
-
Adjust the grind size and steeping time to fine-tune your brew.
-
Experiment with different water temperatures to explore the flavour profile.
-
For a stronger brew, use a finer grind or a longer steeping time.
-
The inverted method allows for a more consistent extraction.
